Tag: Virginia Central Railroad (VC)

csa-railroads.com says: The road was chartered at the Louisa Railroad in 1836 and had its name changed to Virginia Central in 1850. The road connected Richmond to the southwestern Shenandoah Valley at the point where the proposed Covington & Ohio Railroad would have started. The road suffered repeated Union attacks, but was still useful until at least late 1864.
