Tag: CP&AL Arthur’s Run Trestle

The 1865 US Military Railroads map calls it Arthur’s Run Trestle and lists it as 1241 feet long. If lies between miles 17 and 18 as marked on that map, near the end of the line, just short of Griffin and Humphrey.

Inscription on mount of Virginia Historical Society copy: “City Point and Army Line, Trestle Bridge over Arthur’s Swamp near Hatcher’s Run. Built by Construction Corps, US Military Railroads, February, 1865. Length 1240 feet.”
