Naval History and Heritage Command says: Steamer GIRAFFE. Fitting out as a blockade runner in drydock at Meadowside, Glasgow, Scotland, in 1862. She ran the Union blockade during 1863 as CSS ROBERT E. LEE and, after capture, became USS FORT DONELSON. The steamer in the foreground is unidentified.
