Hochadel, Abraham’s Engines says: Souther built. 4-4-0. 15×20 in. cylinders. 60 in. drivers. 25 tons. 1853 Built as “Epping” for the Concord & Portsmouth RR. 1862.07.29 Purchased from the Concord RR for $5000 to become USMRR Dept. of Virginia #50/“Epping.” 1862.04, 1862.06-1863.06, 1864.04-07 Repaired at Alexandria. 1862-1864 Used on the Orange & Alexandria RR and construction. 1865 Sold to J. Thornton for $1,500.
