John Henry Devereux was Superintendent of U.S. Military Railroads in Virginia. He was the namesake of USMRR locomotive “J.H. Devereux,” and of Devereux Station on the USMRR-run Orange & Alexandria Railroad. His papers are in the collection of the Western Reserve Historical Society.
