Handwritten on verso of Library of Congress print: This is a photograph of Co. A. – 1st Reg’t, Penna. Reserve Corps (30th Pa. Inf.) taken after the Peninsula Campaign near Richmond, Va. 1862. The Captain is Mott Hooton later Brig Genl. U.S. Army. The 10th man from the left of the Company is Wm. H. Turner. R. Hand low on his gun. The large Corporal (2nd from right of Co. is Corporal Wilson Matlock, next to him is 1st Sgt. Philip Price.
The MOLLUS Colledtion says: 30th Pennsylvania Infantry (1st Reserves). Co. A.
