Hochadel, Abraham’s Engines says: New Jersey no. 378. 4-4-0. 16×24 cylinders. 60 in. drivers. 29 tons. 1864.08.01 Purchased for $20,600 as USMRR Div. of the Mississippi #150. 1864.12-1865.05, 1865.08 Repaired at Nashville. 1865-1866 Sold to the Washington & Alexandria RR after war for $14,500. [note: New Jersey construction records list this number as a New York & Erie engine, though it seems likely that it was in fact this USMRR locomotive, which photographic evidence shows is a New Jersey product].
