Williss, Historical Base Maps. Appomattox Manor – City Point says: This two-story early Federal-style building stand on the east side of present-day Prince Henry Street. Local tradition holds that the building, which once was apparently used as a tavern, was constructed as early as 1730. However, architectural evidence indicates that an early nineteenth century date of construction is more likely.

During the occupation of City Point, camp equipage officers occupied most of the building. The Christian Commission had is office in the north addition.
